This afternoon while Miss Brown is at the PD, you will be working in the following classes. You will need your iPad, Discovery book and pencil case.
The work you need to complete is below. You can do this with a partner or independently, but please make sure you are mindful of your noise levels when you are a visitor in another class!
Instructions:
1. Choose an "Animal Adaptations" video below. 2. Choose a way to take notes (use the poster --> for inspiration!) 3. Watch the video and take notes. You can pause the video as many times as you need. 4. After taking notes, write a short summary. Make sure you focus on what physical features of the animal help it to survive. Done? Choose another video! You might like to choose a different way to take notes, or you can take them in the same way. |
During this hour I expect you to complete this task for at least 3 animals. (The videos are only short!) I will be collecting your Discovery books tomorrow to check your work. If you have done three you may stop and choose:
- Watch more videos on this page.
- Continue with any other work you need to finish off.
- Maths Revision.
- Independent Reading.
- Independent Writing.

Plant Adaptations:
Tuesday 26th July:
Learning Intention: To understand how features of plants help them to survive in different conditions.
1. In your co-operative learning group, decide on a different way that each person will take notes.
2. Watch the video (either in your group or separately) and each take notes in your selected way.
3. Come back together as a group and share your notes.
4. Work together to create a summary of what you learnt. Each person will need to share the key ideas from your video with other members of the class, so make sure you are all happy with your summary!

Plant Life Cycles:
What on Earth?
Help an alien to understand how flowering plants are adapted to living on Earth. Watch a demonstration about plant functions such as photosynthesis. Then examine plant parts to see how they work. |
Not a plant, not an animal...

Use Numbers to create a graph showing either your heart rate during the experiment,
or comparing your heart rate to a friend's.
