Learning Intention: To identify emotive language used in texts and analyse the intended impact on the reader.
1. Read each article together with your partner.
3. Highlight the emotive language used, and annotate with emojis and short sentences to describe the intended impact (like in my example).
4. Once you are both finished, discuss which article you found had the most emotional impact. Why do you think that was?

2. Discuss how you think the writer wanted you to feel.
3. In your English book, write a list of the emotive language used in the text. (Remember this might be a word, a phrase or a whole sentence.)
