Designing a Rube Goldberg Machine
Week 1:
- Develop an understanding of Rube Goldberg machines.
- Analyse cause & effect steps in Rube Goldberg machines.
- Brainstorm ideas & start bringing materials.
- Finalise draft diagram of machine.
- Work on trialling and improving individual steps (filming or taking photos to document process).
- Submit draft diagram of machine to Miss Brown (by end of the week).
- Continue to construct and trial steps (filming or taking photos to document process).
- Make a plan for the group video & poster. (Check out the iMove tips, tricks & hacks video below!)
- Finish constructing machine (filming or taking photos to document process).
- Put together and edit the video.
- Start making poster.
- Test machine and make final tweaks.
- Finish editing video.
- Finish making poster
- Let The Contest Begin! Groups to present their machines to different grades at arranged times
- Complete:
- Final success rate graph/tally,
- Self-evaluation,
- Group evaluation &
- Written individual reflection.
